How to use it: open the website on your phone as if you have never heard of the company. Check each item without explaining the site to yourself. Anything that needs your private knowledge is not clear enough for a first-time visitor.
Offer clarity
- 1
The first screen says what the business does in plain language.
- 2
The location or service area is clear when geography affects the sale.
- 3
The primary customer and problem are recognizable.
- 4
One main action—call, text, book, or request a quote—is visually dominant.
- 5
Pricing, process, or a clear next step reduces uncertainty where appropriate.
Mobile contact path
- 6
Text is readable without zooming and buttons are easy to tap.
- 7
The call, text, or quote action appears before a long scroll.
- 8
Navigation is short, labeled clearly, and works with a keyboard.
- 9
Forms request only information needed for the first response.
- 10
Success and error messages are clear after form submission.
Trust and proof
- 11
Business name, phone, service area, and hours are consistent.
- 12
Reviews are real, attributable where appropriate, and not fabricated.
- 13
Photos show real work, people, location, or process when those facts matter.
- 14
Licenses, insurance, certifications, and guarantees appear only when verified.
- 15
The about and process content explains who is responsible and what happens next.
Search foundation
- 16
Every important page has a unique, concise title and one clear primary heading.
- 17
Services have useful content instead of duplicated city-name pages.
- 18
Important pages are reachable through crawlable internal links.
- 19
Canonical URLs, sitemap, robots rules, and indexing settings agree.
- 20
Structured data contains only visible, accurate business facts.
Speed and measurement
- 21
Images are appropriately sized and pages do not shift while loading.
- 22
The site uses HTTPS and avoids broken or insecure resources.
- 23
Google Analytics or another approved tool is installed once—not duplicated.
- 24
Meaningful events distinguish completed forms from simple page views.
- 25
Search Console and lead records can connect visibility, traffic, and inquiries.
How to prioritize the failures
Do not fix the checklist from top to bottom automatically. Prioritize by business risk. A broken form, wrong phone number, invisible mobile button, or ineligible Google profile can cost more immediately than a weak paragraph. Fix anything that blocks contact or creates false information first.
Next, fix clarity. If visitors cannot recognize the service, area, customer fit, or next step, additional traffic simply sends more people into confusion. Then improve trust, search structure, speed, and measurement.
What a score means
A high score does not guarantee rankings or leads. A low score does not prove the business needs a full rebuild. The checklist identifies symptoms; the underlying platform, content, customer demand, competition, reputation, and follow-up process still matter.
Use the result to form a short action list: one urgent correction, one conversion improvement, one search improvement, and one measurement improvement. That is more useful than a fifty-item report with no order.
